I dont believe it, the sun finally came out for a reasonable length of time today. I though with global warming we were suposed to have warmer summers not a bloody monsoon! Anyway Its about bloomin time too! Havent seen any blue like this for over a month and a half. It tends to rain alot in Mancunia but every day for a month and a half it has consistently rained! Musnt grumble its been like that across the country, with flooding and in some extreme cases deaths. Hope it stays like this for the week end as I have several outings planned (More on those at a later date...) no doubt it will raining come seven o'clock, now I've written this! ;-)

For now at least its back to the alleged British Summer time...

Portrait / Group People Shot

Not very good at people shooting and liked this one best.

For some reason the submission would only let me pick photo's from last ten pages of my uploads, so bit dissapointed, cos there's others I would have liked to submit, but hey ho thats life see what happens. By voting for me you could put me on TV. Imagine that!!!! ;-)

Next up were The Horrors and gotta be honest they were not for me, strangley the younger members of the audience seemed to really dig them (must be getting old!) and if it wasnt for their extremely strange stage performance I might have disappeared off to Lime Bar for a beer. The lead singer twitched and jerked all over the stage, like he was having an epileptic fit and on more than one occaision made use of improvised props thrown on the stage by the crowd. These included an umbrella and some of those wierd bootlace sweets - dont ask! Put it this way the umbrella wont see any more rainy days in Manchester! Other things to note included the lead guitarists extremely big hair, the basists 1000 yard stare - complete with Billy Joe Armstrong style make-up! Oh and how could I forget the leadsingers crowd surfing, which it has to be said REALLY pissed off the security gaurds! To cap it all off was the keyboard players strange Michael Jackson in Thriller dance style posturing...

The Music I hear you cry! Erm sorry they were dreadful and I couldnt understand a word of it! I've heard more intelligible thrash metal! Having said I didnt like them was an understatment, on the plus side I've written quite a lot about them and they do have undeniable stage presence!

**(Editors Note) Sorry if I've offended any Horros fans this is for you...**

Again dont know too much about this band, I guess thats why the event was called "Unknown Pleasures!" and NYPC (to those in the know!) were as The Whip, a pleasure to behold, particularly the keyboard player who was very preeety! The band consists of Tahita Bulmer - Vocals, Andy Spence - Guitar, Lou Hayter - Keyboard, Igor Volk - Bass, Sarah Jones - Drums. Most notable songs were of course singles "The Get Go" & "Ice Cream" - which recently featured in the Intel Core 2 Processor advert. The rest of the set was made up of more trademark spiky punk pop style, songs came from there debut album "Fantastic Playroom" which was by no means filler material and once again no disapointment to the crowd and members of the audience who were more familiar with their material.

Local talent the The Whip followed the first support act "Gasperilla" (who were indeed very good and worth looking out for in the future!)

The former's set consisted of discoid, electro rock that really got the crowd moving and came across very well live. Considering they were a member light they were easily my favourite band of the line up. They have a new single out shortly entitled "Muzzle No.1" which I shall definitely be off to purchase, although I didnt know any of their songs on the day to say I enjoyed their sound was an understatement. Members present on the day were Bruce on vocals, lead guitar and synth, the very photogenic & cheeky looking Danny on bass and Fiona on drums, who kicks so hard that the drumkit kept sliding forward and constantly had to be repositioned. They filled their 45min set easilly and there wasnt a moment of boredom or dullness about them, finishing nicely with recent release Trash wich sent the EMO kids pogoing along!
